Six properties in Gaston County sold for prices exceeding $1 million in July, including a south Belmont home, the former Payless ShoeSource building in Gastonia and an apartment complex just off Davidson Avenue in Gastonia.

The most significant sale belonged to Belmont Industrial LLC, which purchased 13 acres of land off Woodlawn Street in north Belmont for $3.283 million ahead of construction of a new business park.

Belmont’s newest business park will include a 400,000 square-feet warehouse and a smaller 80,000 square-feet building built by Charlotte-based Tribek Properties. A tenant for the buildings has yet to be announced.

Additionally, a home off Catawba Cove Lane in Belmont sold to Myxos Corp. for $2.15 million. The 6,700 square-feet home features four bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen and a boat shelter on a cove north of Lake Wylie.

Another new 7-Eleven

The former Payless ShoeSource building at the intersection of New Hope Road and Franklin Boulevard sold for $1.6 million last month.

Jim Windham, a local attorney who prepared the deed, said the corner will be home to another 7-Eleven convenience store. The 50-year-old building will be torn down and replaced with a new building for the new 7-Eleven location, according to Windham.

7-Eleven told The Gazette last year the store chain plans to open five locations in Gastonia.

Other properties that sold big:

• Less than two acres home to Fresenius Kidney Care on Lower Dallas Highway just outside of Dallas sold for $2.96 million. Construction of the 8,900 square-feet building on the property wrapped up in 2019.

• More than 26 acres along Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Gastonia sold to Profile Homes-North Glenn LLC for $1.85 million. The property is perpendicular to Bulb Avenue and sits a little less than two miles north of the Gaston County Courthouse. Profile Homes has built several communities of townhomes and standalone houses in the Charlotte area.

• Glenn Oaks Apartments on Glenn Street in Gastonia sold for $1.075 million. The complex includes five small apartment buildings building in the mid-1980s.

There were 711 property sales in Gaston County during July, totaling more than $148 million, according to Martin Eudy of Gaston Real Data.
